How We Got Started

How We Got Started

We wanted to be a part of a bigger community, one of inclusion, wellness and fun. We were new to the city and figured why not create this community for ourselves and watch it grow. 12 years later it is still developing and growing. There is always room for new people, new experiences and achieving new goals.

As you can see, I am a very lucky woman. I have a beautiful and healthy family that stands by me and supports me through all of my new endeavors and adventures.

I grew up locally, went to the University of Michigan thinking I wanted to be a physician, changed my mind after 4 years of pre-med and moved to Chicago without a plan. It is there that I met my husband, Marc, and settled into a Master’s Program of Physical Therapy at Northwestern University Medical School. I spent several years in Chicago working at an urban hospital and a suburban wellness center. After returning to Michigan in 2004, I began working in an outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinic. At the same time, I completed my Comprehensive Certification in Stott Pilates and have taught pilates both privately and to my patients for the past 7 years. Additionally, I have developed a Runner’s clinic within my physical therapy practice , which includes video gait analysis, exercise prescription and goal setting.

In 2015, I achieved my own personal goal of becoming an Ironman triathlete and was awarded a Bronze All World Athlete Award for being in the top 10% of women in my age group. I have been a distance runner for 20 years and have completed 10 marathons.
