Rehab Pilates is a unique approach to the Pilates method in which we combine several therapeutic treatment modalities with the basic principles of Pilates, including manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, gait analysis, functional movement training and breath facilitation.
Who will benefit from Rehab Pilates?
Most often, individuals who have previously sought traditional medical care including physical therapy, and would like to achieve better outcomes and their long-term goals. Clients typically present with one or more orthopedic, neurological or general health issues, and they are seeking further skilled care from certified practitioners, who also happen to be Pilates instructors.
What to expect at Rehab Pilates:
At the first session, you will undergo an evaluation and assessment from your certified instructor. Posture, balance, gait, strength, flexibility, and overall functional mobility will be measured and both you and your instructor will formulate a plan of action together. Each session will be individualized and unique. You may spend time working on the Pilates equipment, learning new exercises to do at home and/or on the massage table receiving hands-on care.
